Dive into the price list: The Kia EV9, what does the Korean Mastodon cost

Earlier this year, Kia introduced the EV9, the brand’s new electric flagship. The Kia EV9 can be ordered now and we can take a look at the price list.

The Kia EV9 is the brand’s new top electric model, at least considering its size. The EV9 primarily fulfills the role of a large family car, but in 2023 we’re talking about a large SUV instead of an MPV. This choice also contributes to the fact that the EV9 is largely intended for the North American market. We have already written enough about the car itself. We are now invited to dive into the price list because the car can now be ordered.

Kia EV9 Launch Edition

Small side note: The Kia EV9 can only be ordered as a Launch Edition. As the name suggests, this is a special introductory version. The final price list will have to wait a while. Some highlights from the Launch Edition’s standard equipment include 19-inch alloy wheels, vegan faux leather upholstery, a digital interior mirror, electrically adjustable seats with memory function and massage function for the driver, and a dashboard consisting of a whopping 29 inches of screens. A Meridian Premium Sound System ensures good sound.

The Kia EV9 Launch Edition is also available as a GT-Line. In addition to sportier equipment, you also get 21-inch alloy wheels, a sliding/tilting glass roof and a more powerful drive. More on this under the next heading.

Powertrain Kia EV9

At launch, the Kia EV9 is available with two powertrains. The “standard model” has an output of 150 kW (204 hp) and a torque of 350 Nm at the rear wheels. The GT-Line gets an additional electric motor that provides all-wheel drive and a system output of 283 kW (384 hp) and a whopping 700 Nm of torque. Both versions have a 99.8 kWh battery. The standard version has a range of 541 km (WLTP). The GT-Line not only has more power, but also higher consumption and can therefore travel 450 km (WLTP).

Prices Kia EV9

The Kia EV9 has a starting price of 71,495 euros. The GT-Line costs at least 78,895 euros. Please note: These are the starting prices for the well-equipped entry-level models. We assume that the regular models will soon have a cheaper starting price. The EV9 is a seven-seater as standard. If you prefer the more luxurious seating arrangement with six seats (the middle row of seats can be rotated 180 degrees), the starting price is 79,995 euros.

Outdoor decoration

If the entry-level model is already so expensive, we’ll go for the top model straight away. The Kia EV9 Launch Edition GT-Line with six seats. The GT-Line comes standard with the bright blue body color, but you can swap this for one of the other colors at no additional cost. There are also no additional charges for other body colors with the regular Launch Edition. By the way, the bright Ocean Blue is available exclusively for the GT-Line. Conversely, the color ivory silver is not available for the GT-Line. Otherwise, the color palette is the same for both models, see overview below. The only color that incurs an additional charge is a matte version of the bright blue. Then you are immediately 2,995 euros further. Our choice? Flare Red, which contrasts nicely with the black exterior parts.

Separate options

Um, well, we’re already there with the choice of body color, because the Launch Edition doesn’t yet offer any alternative wheel or interior options. In fact, there is no options list at all. The described body color options and possible six-seat configuration are the only options for now.

Well, there is still an accessories list. You can choose from a roof rack (460 or 540 euros, depending on the variant), a trailer hitch (1,500 or 2,900 euros, depending on the variant) or a car alarm system (1,200 or 1,400 euros, depending on the variant). The list also includes a few other rim options for 19 to 21 inches (1,500 to 4,600 euros), but they are not listed anywhere yet.

Assemble the Kia EV9 yourself

This leaves our configuration with the “standard” price of 79,995 euros for the GT-Line with six seats. Below are some additional images of the Kia EV9 Launch Edition. Assemble the car yourself? It’s very easy with the beautiful configurator at www.kia.com/nl. Although the regular performances will be available soon.
