Serious train accident in India: A passenger train and a freight train collided with each other in the state of Odisha on Friday night, local media said, citing officials. Numerous people were injured as a result.
Several media even spoke of more than 300 injured. About 50 ambulances are at the scene, the Times of India reported citing official information.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 72, tweeted: “Shocked by the train crash in Odisha. At this hour of sorrow, my thoughts are with the grieving families.” The rescue work continued, he wrote. In his tweet, the prime minister also wished the injured a speedy recovery. (SDA)
