Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet and revolutionary, according to the Walk of Fame statement. Decades after his death, the artist is still part of the zeitgeist. Shakur (“All Eyez on Me”) was one of the most successful rappers of the 1990s. In 2017, the musician was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

The hip-hop star, who grew up in impoverished New York conditions, was sometimes involved in drug trafficking and other crimes, and was also imprisoned. As a teenager, he moved to California with his family. There he worked, among other things, at the Death Row Records label, which is known for gangsta rap.
