Florida’s governor will join the billionaire in a live event on Twitter Spaces
Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, will announce his candidacy for the Republican Party representative in the 2024 presidential election this Wednesday along with Twitter CEO Elon Musk, NBC News reports. Already last November, the billionaire owner of the social network already announced that he would support the governor of Florida if he decided to run against Donald Trump.
Musk and DeSantis will host the event at Twitter spaces, an audio chat platform, on Wednesday at 7:00 PM on the US East Coast (1:00 AM on Thursday in Spain). The moderator will be David Sacks, a tech entrepreneur close to the billionaire and a supporter of the governor. DeSantis’ campaign will be announced the same night the launch video and donor event will begin in Miami. In addition, next Monday the candidate will begin visiting the first states that vote in the Republican primaries.
Musk’s support could be important impulse for DeSantis, as he will become known to the mogul’s millions of followers, including 140 million on Twitter. But it could be burden if punctuated by the usual Tesla CEO controversies.
The campaign team for the former governor of South Carolina nikki haleyhe accused DeSantis this Tuesday and compared him to former President Trump, but “without his charm.”
