The State Department had summoned Ambassador Nadine Lozano for interfering with Switzerland’s response spread on Twitter, it said in a statement on Sunday. The ministry also accused the embassy of inappropriately and unprofessionally publishing a false flag of Iran.

On Friday, the embassy showed a photo on Twitter of people protesting with a photo of the young Kurd Jina Mahsa Amini, who died in custody. Also visible in the photo was the flag of Iran before the Islamic takeover in 1979.

The tweet stated that Switzerland strongly condemned the execution of the three protesters. The tweet also called on the Iranian regime to take action against death sentences. (sda)
