At a critical conference on the Kremlin in late April, two Russian exiles were allegedly poisoned. One of them is Natalia Arno, the head of Free Russia Foundation.

A conference of the Russian Kremlin critic Mikhail Chordorkowski (59) in Berlin ended for two Russian exiles and journalists with health problems. As the “Welt am Sonntag” reports, it was speculated that the two could have been poisoned.

The police state protection of the Berlin Criminal Investigation Department has now started investigating the incident at the end of April. “Based on the knowledge available here, a process has been set up,” the press service said at the request of the newspaper. The authorities have not provided any further information due to ongoing procedures.

“strange symptoms” and an “acute pain”

According to the Russian portal Agentstvo, the symptoms of an affected person appeared before the conference on April 29 and 30.

The second person is Natalia Arno, the head of the Free Russia Foundation, an American non-profit organization. According to the Russian media report, she reported her symptoms on the social network Facebook.

Accordingly, according to the report, she felt “strange symptoms” and “acute pain”, a feeling of numbness remained. She had expressed suspicion that she may have been poisoned with a nerve agent that was being investigated by a Western intelligence agency. At the request of “Welt am Sonntag”, she referred to investigations by the FBI in her adopted home in the US.

In the past, there have been repeated poisoning attacks against critics of the Russian regime. The most famous is the attack on Kremlin critic Alexej Navalny (46), who was also the victim of a poisoning attack in Russia in 2020. (dzc/SDA)
