The Kremlin announced this Thursday its willingness to listen “with great attention” to any proposal for a solution in Ukraine, announcing a visit to Moscow by a delegation of African countries to discuss the peace initiative.

“Russia is ready to listen with great attention to any proposal for contribution resolution of the situation in Ukraine“, confirmed the spokesman of the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov, at his daily press conference.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov already said this Wednesday that his country is not familiar with the details of the peace proposals presented by African countries and Brazil, but that it is willing to study them, unlike the West, he said. that he only accepts the Kiev plan.

Spokesman Peskov added on Thursday that in a recent conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, the latter told him that Africa felt it necessary “to have a voice in international efforts to resolve the well-known situation in Ukraine”.

Peskov indicated that with this in mind, a group of African countries will send a delegation to visit Moscow on a yet to be determined date.

In any case, the spokesman announced that Putin’s meeting with the African delegation will take place before the Russian-African summitwhich will be held at the end of next July in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg.
