Miracle in Colombia: 4 children found alive in the jungle 2 weeks after plane crash The latest trend in Russia: cappuccino with breast milk

Four children who went missing more than two weeks ago after a plane crash over the Colombian rainforest have been found alive.

“After an arduous search by our armed forces, we found the four children alive on Wednesday,” Colombian President Gustavo Petro said on Twitter.

The crash site was in an area that was difficult to access.

The children are eleven months and four, nine and 13 years old. Her mother and two other adults died in the plane crash.

The Cessna 206 had already disappeared from radar on May 1 when it flew over the Amazon rainforest. She was then near San José del Guaviare, one of the largest cities in the Colombian Amazon. Because the rainforest in the area is very dense and difficult to access, the missing machine was first searched from the air.

However, rescuers did not reach the crash site on the ground until Monday, the head of local civil protection, Germany’s Camargo, told AFP news agency. Rescue teams found bitten fruit from the jungle at the crash site and therefore hoped for survivors. (sda/afp)
