The next elections for the European Parliament will be held in all the countries of the European Union in between June 6 and 9, 2024. the elective appointment which, in the case of Spain, will take place on sunday 9.
“Democracy in the European Union is more important than ever, your vote counts. With it, you will decide which direction our Union will go and you will decide what kind of Europe you want to see,” warned the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, in a short message recorded and broadcast on social networks to invite Europeans to vote.
The calendar was agreed by European governments and adopted at a meeting of the twenty-seven at ambassadorial level this Wednesday in Brussels, as reported by the rotating presidency of the EU, which Sweden holds this semester. The date will vary between the 6th and the 9th depending on the usual electoral procedures in each Member State.
In his message inviting Europeans to vote, Metsola insisted on the value of the participation of every citizen: “Europe needs you to take sides, don’t let others decide for you”. He also admitted that the Union “is not perfect”, but defended that it is “constantly developing”, that it “needs reforms” and that “we should not be afraid of change”.
