It is not uncommon for people to be annoyed by the mail they receive: bills, advertising sheets, flyers of all kinds. But what women in Australia have received in the mail has provoked not only anger, but also disgust.
In the past three months, 65 women in South East and East Melbourne have opened letters containing used condoms alongside handwritten explicit messages.
The first incident was reported in March and the most recent was last Monday. As far as the perpetrator is concerned, the police are still in the dark. However, it assumes that all victims are connected and part of a targeted attack.
Because: As the Australian daily Herald Sun reports, all affected women would have attended Kilbreda College and graduated in 1999. One of the victims, Bree Walker, told the newspaper:
Walker said they had no idea who sent the letters. But they suspect that their addresses come from an old school yearbook.
Police are asking for the public’s help in further investigations. (Sat)
