Ramzan Kadyrov is overjoyed. His stallion Zazu was found.

It is a special message that the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov (46) writes on his Telegram channel. “Friends, I have good news,” the text begins. It is not about the war in Ukraine, but about his stallion Zazu.

The English thoroughbred suddenly disappeared from his stable in the Czech town of Roudnice nab Labem in March 2023. Stolen! The police even investigated and released a police photo of Zazu. Now the matter is settled. “Zazu is on his way home,” Kadyrov writes happily.

Secret service organized theft

Kadyrov also explains on Telegram what exactly happened to his favorite stallion and who is behind it. The Ukrainian secret service is said to have helped him bring the horse to Chechnya. Because: The stallion was sanctioned in 2014 after Russia annexed Crimea. The thoroughbred stallion was arrested in the Czech Republic along with four other horses.

According to the Chechen leader, “at the beginning of the year, representatives of the Ukrainian security services contacted him through intermediaries” and offered to buy Zazu’s release.

Hoping this would free Zazu from sanctions, he agreed to the sale. “Honestly, I thought Zazu was going to be officially handed over one way or another. But it turned out that the secret services had a daring plan – they staged his theft from a stable in the Czech Republic in consultation with Czech police officers,” Kadydrov writes.

Stallion is said to be worth $10 million

In the end he just had to buy his favorite stallion for free. Ukraine’s secret service demanded $18,000. The Czech police estimated the animal at this price. Peanuts – thinks the 46-year-old. According to him, Zazu is worth at least ten million dollars.

So the thoroughbred not only resurfaced, but was on its way to him in Chechnya. And so, at the end of his text, Kadyrov mocks the secret service of Ukraine. “So, friends, if you need anything from Europe, contact the Ukrainian special services. Fast, professional, cheap, without sanctions.” (jmh)
