Six killed in private football game in Mexico park Ahead of second round in Turkey, chief election observer calls for equal opportunities

At a park in Mexico, six people were killed in a shooting during a football match organized by a family. According to authorities, the shooting took place Monday night in a residential area of ​​the town of Atotonilco de Tula in the inland state of Hidalgo.

“An armed attack took place on the football field where a sporting family reunion was taking place,” the prosecutor’s office said. Three children and youths were among the dead and two other people were injured.

According to eyewitnesses, several armed and apparently drunk men opened fire on bystanders, causing panic before fleeing. Two people were killed instantly and four others succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
