The Madeleine McCann family published on the Find Madeleine Facebook page an emotional message on the occasion of the girl’s twentieth birthday, who disappeared in the Portuguese Algarve on May 3, 2007, when the girl was almost four years old: «Happy birthday, Madeleine. We still miss you so much. We will continue to search as long as necessary.”
The latest news about one of the most notorious cases of this century has the German Christian Brueckner, one of the suspects in the disappearance of the British woman, as the protagonist. In October 2022, the German prosecutor’s office formulated a charge of five sexual crimes unrelated to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Three of those charges relate to rape, while the remaining two relate to cases of sexual assault.
Brueckner is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence for raping a 72-year-old American tourist in Portugal.
Moreover, last March the German-Polish Julia Faustyna finally admitted that she is not Madeleine McCann. The 21-year-old previously claimed that her identity matched that of the girl who disappeared in 2007 and even launched a social media campaign to convince the girl’s parents to undergo a DNA test.
Faustyna also insisted that she was abducted during her childhood. and judged with a false identity. In addition, she was convinced that Christian Brueckner had sexually abused her as a minor.
