Alice Chambers (36) was crowned by King Charles III. accidentally arrested.

The architect Alice Chambers (36) is a big fan of the Royals and loved to attend the coronation of King Charles III. to be there live. Instead, she ended up in a police station.

Unfortunately for her, Chambers sat next to activists from the organization “Just Stop Oil”, who were taken out of circulation by the police. So in minutes she went from a Royal fan to a supposed Royal enemy.

Arrest for substitution

She tells the BBC TV channel: “I just sat there waiting for the coronation to start. Suddenly the police came and handcuffed a whole group of people.” Since the group had not yet started their protest, Chambers had no idea why she was being arrested.

She tried to explain that there was a misunderstanding, but no one would listen. She reports, “It didn’t seem to matter what I said. Nothing really would have made a difference.” So she had no choice but to show her ID and follow the officers to the station.

There she was interrogated, had to be physically searched and held in a cell. In addition, their DNA and fingerprints were secured and a police photo was taken.

Held for 13 hours

Ten hours later, two senior police officers believed her when she said she had no idea who “Just Stop Oil” was. Chambers reports that the officers looked at each other in shock and apologized: “They said there were no further questions and that they were really sorry I had been involved.”

Nevertheless, it took Chambers another two and a half hours to be released – she spent a total of 13 hours in police custody. She has since filed a police report.

She told the newspaper “I-News” disappointed: “The police should have better processes and better training. Innocent people should not be locked up for so long.” (Mrs)
