The luxury yacht Luna is in the port of Hamburg – researchers have now secured valuable art in it.

Use in the port of Hamburg: The “Luna” has been chained up for months. It belongs to the Azerbaijani oligarch Farchad Akhmedov (67) – he is said to have good contacts in the Kremlin.

The Frankfurt public prosecutor’s office has been investigating the billionaire businessman who supports Russian politics for months. Last year, the EU imposed sanctions on Akhmedov.

He has not filed an asset declaration with the authorities

Now the “Spiegel” reports that investigators from the Federal Criminal Investigation Department have searched the “Luna” and seized works of art worth several million euros. They would be expensive paintings and other artifacts.

However, after being placed on the sanctions list, he should have reported this to the German authorities. A spokesperson confirmed to “Bild”: “The suspect is suspected of violating the obligation to report assets to the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control after being placed on the EU sanctions list.”

The 115-meter yacht will remain in Hamburg – and probably won’t be launched again any time soon. The white and blue yacht was originally built in 2010 for Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich (55), who sailed the ship under his flag for only four years and then sold it to Akhmedov.

Operated by a 49-person crew, the yacht can accommodate nearly 20 guests. In the belly of the ship would be a mini submarine for sea trips. (new)
