In protest of the weaknesses in the French school system, a teacher burned dozens of high school exam papers for a high school in Paris.

The English teacher set the English exams of 63 students on fire in a metal bucket on Tuesday, the newspaper “Le Parisien” reported on Wednesday. None of his students spoke English, which shows that the lessons of the past seven years are no good, said the replacement teacher. That’s why he revealed the exam questions to his class. When it exploded and there were other tasks, he decided on the spectacular action filmed by the newspaper.

Of the 63 papers he burned, the vast majority, in his opinion, were catastrophic, the teacher said. This shows that it cannot be due to a lack of willingness to learn on the part of some students. As the school board told the newspaper, a complaint had been filed against the substitute teacher, whose contract would not be renewed. Precautions are in place to ensure that students are not disadvantaged when they graduate from high school. It was not said whether they would have to take the test again. (aeg/sda/dpa)
