It’s every parent’s nightmare: little Emanuelly was supposed to have been born in Brazil on May 1, but the child died. The doctor accidentally killed it – and then tried to cover up his crime.
As broadcaster Record TV reports, pregnant Ranielly Santos was admitted to a hospital in Belo Horizonte on April 24. At the beginning of May, the doctors decided to deliver her baby via caesarean section.
This procedure resulted in birth horror. The doctor accidentally cut the girl’s throat. The baby died.
“I’m Devastated”
To cover up their mistake, the doctors apparently sewed up the dead baby’s throat again. When the family wanted to say goodbye to the deceased child, the grandmother, who was present at the birth, noticed that something was not right. “She opened the covers over Emanuelly’s tiny body and found a lot of stitches and marks on her neck,” mom Ranielly Santos told Record TV.
The hospital itself then apologized for the mistake. Those responsible offered to cover the funeral expenses for the deceased child. The parents disagreed and sued the hospital for damages.
“I cry every day. I can’t sleep, I always think about my daughter,” Santos told the broadcaster. “I’m devastated.”
