Strange scenes played out in the Tyrolean village idyll (A) on Tuesday evening: in the municipality of Ebbs in the district of Kufstein, a man (20) crawled half-naked around cars and threatened several people with a knife.
Eyewitnesses reported this to the police. When she arrived, the alleged thief fled with a stolen car, as the “Krone” writes. A chase ensued.
As the Italian ran away from the police officers in the stolen car, he broke through a metal gate and crashed into a concrete wall.
Rover can’t drive
The car thief ran away from the police officers on foot and hurried toward a horse paddock. “There the man sat on a horse to continue his escape with the animal,” the police say to the “Krone”.
Only: the man could not drive. After a few meters he fell off his horse and was eventually arrested by the police. He fought back en masse and damaged a police car. The detectives used pepper spray.
During the arrest, the police discovered a 30 centimeter long kitchen knife, which the Italian apparently used to threaten passers-by. A small amount of hemp was also found during a search of the house. The robber was taken to hospital. There is now a case against him. (jwg)
