Little information has been made public about the current condition of actor Jamie Foxx, who is ill. On April 12, after “medical complications” during the filming of the movie “Back in Action,” he was taken to a hospital in Georgia, where he currently resides.
“Fortunately, with quick action and good care, he is already on the mend,” his daughter Corinne Foxx said shortly afterwards via social media. What the 55-year-old suffers from has not yet been made public. All that was said was that he was under surveillance and underwent a series of medical tests.
Worryingly, Jamie Foxx is still in hospital more than three weeks later. His close friend, musician Charles Alston, posted a photo on May 1 with his hands clasped in prayer against a black background and the words “Pray for Foxx.” He wrote, “I need all of you to keep our brother, whom we all love and care about, in our hearts, thoughts and prayers! We need you back, brother.”
Shortly after his hospitalization, his co-star Kerry Washington wrote in a post that she was praying for Jamie Foxx. “Sending you all the love and prayers my film man,” she commented on a shared photo.

Comedian Nick Cannon also recently said publicly about his colleague’s condition: “I pray. I posted on Instagram. I literally prayed out loud. Words of encouragement for my big brother.” On Wednesday, it was announced that Cannon will helm Foxx’ TV game show “Beat Shazam” in Foxx’s place. Daughter Corinne, who is normally the show’s DJ, will be replaced by Kelly Osbourne so she can be by her father’s side.
While Foxx is in the hospital, a body double will continue filming for the “Back in Action” movie, which he starred in until the incident in Atlanta, USA, with Hollywood stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
