A senior member of the militant Palestinian organization Islamic Jihad died this morning in Israeli custody after nearly three months of hunger strike. Khader Adnan, 44, from the West Bank town of Jenin, was found unconscious in his cell early this morning, prison officials said. According to prison authorities, Adnan was imprisoned for alleged membership in a terrorist organization and support for terrorism and hate speech.
