The police are still looking for him: neighborhood killer Francisco O.

Francisco O.*, 39, killed five of his neighbors with a semi-automatic rifle in Cleveland, Texas, on Friday night. Shortly before, they had asked him to stop firing in the front yard. The noise disturbed a baby while sleeping.

The victims are three women († 25, † 21, † 31), a young man († 18) and a little boy († 8). All five victims are from Honduras. The suspect is from Mexico.

He could not be caught immediately after the crime. According to CNN, he is still on the run – two days after the horror act.

“Don’t Think He’s Around”

“He could be anywhere right now,” San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said at a media conference Saturday. In the meantime, there was hope of locating the alleged shooter as detectives attempted to locate the suspect through his cell phone.

However, this lead turned out to be useless. Sniffer dogs were also used. But they too would have lost track after a short time.

Even though the police don’t know exactly where O. is at the moment, they still have a guess. “We don’t think he’s around,” Capers said Saturday morning, adding that the killer is now at least 15 to 30 miles from the crime scene.

“A threat to society”

The local police are assisted by the FBI in their search for the culprit. He also assesses the situation as very serious and urgently warns against O. The Mexican is armed and dangerous. “He’s out there posing a threat to society,” said FBI agent James Smith. Authorities are now in close contact with the suspect’s wife.

The murder sparked outrage. Even Honduran Foreign Minister Enrique Reina got involved. He wrote on Twitter: “We demand that the full force of the law be used against whoever is responsible for this crime.” (ceded)
