In Frankfurt, construction workers suddenly made a bizarre discovery: in the middle of the construction site, the workers suddenly encountered dozens of skeletons. This is reported by the German Bild.
The human remains were discovered during the construction of a new primary school in Frankfurt’s Rödelheim district. The human bones lay at a depth of up to 1.55 meters below the schoolyard.
This place used to be a cemetery
Immediately after the discovery, the detectives and the Monuments Office arrived. They examined the bones for traces of modern clothing or modern medical treatments. These would all be indications that the deaths were the victims of a crime.
However, the authorities were quickly able to release everything: the old cemetery of Rödelheim used to be in the affected area. This was also indicated by the remains of coffins found around some of the 59 skeletons. According to the newspaper, the skeletons probably date from 1850. The dead now find their final resting place in the cemetery of Westhausen. (dzc)
