Seven people died in the horror accident in Thüringen in Germany on the B247 at the beginning of April. Including five 19-year-olds. Blame for the tragedy: a black BMW that swerved into oncoming traffic.
No wonder: the driver (34) got behind the wheel drunk. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the 34-year-old had about 1.3 promille in his blood, “Bild” now reports. That means: absolutely no driving! At such a high value, balance and coordination are disturbed.
The BMW driver survived the accident with serious injuries. His life is no longer in danger, but the detectives have not yet been able to question him. One thing is clear: at the time of the accident, the German was not only drunk, he also did not have a valid driver’s license.
The passenger was also drunk and did not have a ticket
The BMW runs into the dead driver’s father. It is still unclear whether the 34-year-old simply took the car with him or borrowed it. “If the investigation shows that the owner provided his car knowing that the driver did not have a driver’s license, it would be a criminal offense: it would be punishable by up to one year in prison or a fine,” said the officer of justice against the «photo».
The police are investigating the BMW driver on suspicion of manslaughter in seven cases. According to the “Ostthüringer Zeitung”, before the horrific accident, the man would have drunk liquor in a parking lot of a supermarket a few kilometers from the scene of the accident and then drove away.
A 45-year-old man was in the BMW. He also survived the crash with serious injuries. He would also have been drunk. And: he had already lost his ticket. In May 2005 he had a terrible accident on the B247 – also driving a BMW, also drunk. (jmh)
