According to the media, the former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, testified to the federal police early this year about the storm of radical supporters on the government district in the capital Brasília. Even though the post came after the riots, Bolsonaro’s role needs to be investigated. The Supreme Court is also investigating “intellectual authorship” that led to the violence and vandalism in Brasília.
On January 8, a few days after his successor, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, took office, Bolsonaro supporters stormed Congress, the seat of government and the Supreme Court in Brasília, wreaking havoc. It took security forces hours to regain control of the situation. Lula accused Bolsonaro of goading his supporters. The former president denied the allegations.
