Joe Biden’s re-election campaign has officially begun — in the form of a three-minute video that begins with one word: “freedom.” The 80-year-old argues in the video that abortion rights, defense of democracy, voting rights and the social safety net will be among the most important issues in the 2024 vote.
The US president continues that voters will have to decide whether to leave “more or less freedom” and “more or less rights” to the next generation.
“Every generation of Americans has had a moment to defend democracy, stand up for our personal freedoms, and stand up for our right to vote and civil rights. This is ours,” said Biden. “That is why I am running for re-election as President of the United States.”
Following his 2020 campaign message that Americans are “in a battle for the soul” of their nation, he also presents his 2024 slogan: “Let’s finish the job.” (no)
