The publishing house Axel Springer has filed an extensive civil lawsuit against former ‘Bild’ boss Julian Reichelt at the Berlin Labor Court. As “Der Spiegel” reports, the publisher is demanding back a seven-figure severance package that Reichelt had been paid. In addition, a high contractual penalty is claimed.
Apparently, the media group believes that Reichelt has violated several obligations laid down in a settlement agreement concluded in 2021. The former editor-in-chief of “Bild” is accused, among other things, of violating “agreements on confidentiality and the disclosure and deletion of internal data”.
He also ignored a contractually agreed relationship clause. In this context, “Spiegel” refers to several former Springer editors and collaborators who now work for Reichelt’s media start-up “Rome Medien GmbH”.
