A fatal accident took place at Hagen (D) in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Thursday evening. Incredibly, the person who caused the accident simply fled from the dust and left his seriously injured passenger to die in the wrecked car.
As the German “Bild” writes, the driver wanted to overtake another car in a blind right turn. However, this braked heavily during his risky overtaking maneuver, which eventually caused his car to go off the road.
The man was not even allowed to drive
The driver then lost control of his vehicle, skidded and eventually crashed into a fence and some trees. He then fled to a nearby forest area.
The passenger who remained behind was removed from the car by rescuers with life-threatening injuries and taken to hospital by helicopter. However, all help came too late for her – she succumbed to her serious injuries.
The driver of the accident is still on the run. “The man ran away and left the dying woman behind,” a spokesman said on Friday. The police are now looking for him with a large contingent. It would be a 34-year-old man from Bremen.
