Austin said this Friday at the start of the meeting of the Ukrainian Contact Group at US Ramstein Air Force Base in the southwestern German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

According to Austin, the partners want to talk about air defense and munitions at their fourth meeting. “Ukraine urgently needs our help to protect its citizens, infrastructure and units against the threat of Russian missiles,” he said. We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes.

According to Austin, the efforts of the Ukrainian partners have made a big difference on the battlefield. They made it clear how miscalculated the Kremlin was. Russia began its invasion of Ukraine more than a year ago.

The contact group Ukraine had previously met three times in Ramstein. Representatives from non-NATO states were also expected at this fourth meeting.
