The anti-corruption foundation of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny (46) has 8,000 e-mails from Svetlana Maniovich, until recently the wife of Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov (47). The organization documents the enormous luxury in which Maniowitsch lives and accuses Ivanov of corruption. She also shows with a video that Maniowitsch continues to shop and party in Europe despite sanctions.
As Maria Pewtschich of the Navalny Foundation writes on Twitter, Maniowitsch was recently in the French ski resort of Courchevel: “She is in the heart of Europe, wearing her diamonds and furs. How did the wife of a war criminal sneak into France?” According to the information, Maniovich divorced five months after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, so that she could continue her life in Europe despite sanctions.

The sanctions now only affect her ‘ex-husband’. As deputy to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu (67), Ivanov is responsible, among other things, for construction contracts for the Ministry of Defense. This includes the reconstruction of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, which was captured by Russia.
According to the Navalny Foundation, Maniowitsch can only afford the lavish lifestyle thanks to her corrupt husband. “Ivanov receives bribes from those to whom he awards Ministry of Defense construction contracts,” Pevchikh wrote on Twitter. Maniowitsch’s bills are often paid by other people and companies, the Russian opposition portal “Meduza” writes, citing information from the Navalny Foundation.
104,000 francs for a ring in Geneva
Documents from the Navalny Foundation show that Maniowitsch bought Dolce & Gabbana dresses for between 52,000 and 94,000 euros. She paid 104,000 euros for a ring bought in Geneva. She is also interested in antiques and once bought a set of glass ornamental birds for €7,000. In 2018, she paid 178,000 euros for her birthday party in Istanbul (Türkiye).
Maniovich also owned several apartments and villas with Ivanov. Some of these are registered in the names of other individuals or companies. One of the couple’s Rolls-Royce and Mercedes was also officially owned by Ivanov’s personal driver.
Summer on the French Riviera
Maniovich used to be married to wealthy businessman Mikhail Maniovich. Together they would have had an apartment in Israel. Svetlana Maniovich also has Israeli citizenship, it is said.
In 2009 Maniovich married Ivanov. As of 2010, the couple spent every August on the Côte d’Azur renting luxury villas and yachts. According to the Navalny Foundation, the two spent 850,000 euros on rental housing in Saint-Tropez (France) between 2013 and 2018. Another 250,000 euros was made for renting yachts. (no)
