This woman just deserves to become a multimillionaire overnight. Geraldine Gimblet gave her life savings to help her daughter fight breast cancer. Then fate intervened and rewarded the 67-year-old’s selflessness with a class lottery jackpot in Florida.

Gimblet had stopped at a gas station in Lakeland the day after her daughter’s last cancer treatment. She also bought water and a $10 scratch card at Pipkin Road Beverage Castle.

She spent every penny on her daughter

In a Florida lottery press statement, the winner revealed: “At first the gas station attendant told me he was out of scratch cards. I asked him to look again and he found one more.” This was the main prize.

Along with her daughter and granddaughter, Gimblet picked up the $2 million jackpot check. The daughter revealed why the win is doubly emotional for the family: “The day before, I had my last breast cancer treatment and was discharged from the hospital cured. My mother had spent every penny she had on me during my illness. That’s why I’m just happy for them!”. (jmh)
