Shots were fired in the small German town of Asperg on Saturday evening. The police find a seriously injured and a dead 18-year-old.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, shots rang out suddenly through a residential area in the small German town of Asperg. Police found one dead and one seriously injured youth in an unpaved parking lot. Both were 18 years old.

The front door of a posh family property was broken open with a battering ram early Sunday evening. A short time later, Amer S.* (20) was taken away by special forces in his underpants, shirt and slippers, “Bild” reports. The suspected shooter is now in custody.

Wrong person targeted

Now it turns out: apparently Amer S. actually wanted to shoot someone else. According to statements from acquaintances, S. and the injured 18-year-old should have gotten into a fight. The two would have agreed to discuss Friday evening in the presence of bystanders.

Then it happened: out of nowhere S. opened fire. The person involved in the argument was hit in the upper body with several shots. Another bullet struck his uninvolved buddy, who was mortally wounded.

Friends of the deceased laid flowers and lit candles on the spot. Acquaintances of the deceased describe him as a very friendly young man. “He was always a welcome guest with us,” says the father of one of his best friends in the photo. “He was always so cheerful. We can’t believe it.”

Parked cars with countless bullet holes

At the crime scene you can see how violent the shooting was: eight bullet holes were discovered in parked cars. The cargo hold of a transporter was penetrated twice. The detectives assume that it is a murder and an attempted manslaughter.

A special commission is investigating the exact background of the crime. (lia)
