Cavill and Taylor-Johnson, who also starred in Avengers: Age of Ultron, would both remain “strongly associated with being the next James Bond,” spokesman John Hill for English bookmaker Coral revealed to the newspaper. According to Hill, the two actors “fit all the criteria for the role” and are therefore jointly in the lead with the bookmakers, which is “no surprise”.

It is not yet known who will be the new Bond. But besides Henry Cavill and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, there are other names in the running. The creators of the 007 series should also be interested in stars such as James Norton, Regé-Jean Page or Tom Hardy. However, according to the bookmakers, they occupy the back places.

For more than five years, Idris Elba has also been repeatedly traded as Daniel Craig’s successor. However, the 50-year-old has already denied the rumors. For example, the “Luther” star said on the podcast “The Shop” in September: “It’s not a career goal for me.” He doesn’t think “playing Bond will satisfy some of my personal goals.”

It may be a long time before it is decided who will be the next James Bond actor. Bond producer Barbara Broccoli revealed to “LADBible” in February that casting for the next 007 comic hadn’t even started yet. According to the 62-year-old, there would not even be a scenario at the moment.
