A 33-year-old woman was attacked with a knife by an unknown man on a bus in Berlin on Tuesday evening and was seriously injured.

As “Bild” writes, the mother and her two daughters (7 and 9) boarded bus 327 at Leopoldplatz. She had picked up her girls from the nursery and wanted to go home with them.

A few minutes later there is a sudden attack. A man with a dark full beard and a hooded jacket pushes the children aside and stabs the mother a total of seven times! The woman sustains abdominal injuries, including to the heart and lungs. While other passengers take care of the seriously injured, the perpetrator manages to flee the bus at the Nauener Platz stop.

Operated for ten hours

The victim is immediately taken to hospital and undergoes ten-hour emergency surgery. Police are currently searching the area. But there is still no sign of the culprit.

The condition of the 33-year-old is now stable. The background to the attack is unclear. The first homicide commission took over the investigation in the case. Authorities currently believe the woman was an accidental victim.

“According to the previous investigations, the perpetrator and the injured party had no previous relationship. There is also no knowledge of a previous dispute or anything like that,” says a spokeswoman. The daughters testified that they had never seen the attacker before. (man)
