At least four children have been killed in an ax attack at a daycare center in the state of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil.
Another four victims aged between 0 and 2 have been taken to hospitals in the town of Blumenau for treatment, the military police of the German news agency confirmed on Wednesday.
A 25-year-old man broke into a private nursery and assaulted children. According to the police, the attacker turned himself in to the police station. He was arrested and handed over to the civilian police. His motive is still unknown.
