Bright colors, many stars: Hollywood star Margot Robbie (32) parades through the new trailer of the feature film ‘Barbie’ in the role of the world-famous Barbie doll in pink heels. Next to her, Ryan Gosling (42) with platinum blonde hair and bright yellow roller skates plays as “Ken”. Other roles in the plastic world of dolls include Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, and Dua Lipa.

More than three months before the planned theatrical release (mid-July), the Warner Bros. Tuesday the trailer online. The story suggests that Ken and Barbie will be transported from their perfect pink Barbieland to the “real world”.
A toy company and Warner Bros. announced the project with Australian Robbie (“Babylon”, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”) in 2019. The Barbie doll has appeared in animated films before, but not in a feature film with actual actors. Greta Gerwig (39, “Little Women”, “Lady Bird”) directs, who also co-wrote the screenplay with her husband Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story”). (sda/dpa)
