The majority of Americans support Trump’s impeachment
About 60 percent of those polled told CNN that they supported the charges against the former president. About three-quarters of Americans say politics played at least a role in the decision to impeach Trump, including 52 percent who say it played a major role. While Democrat supporters support impeachment 94 percent, independents support it 62 percent. 79 percent of Republican supporters reject the allegations.

Trump will plead not guilty to the charges
Trump will plead not guilty. At least that’s what his attorney Joe Tacopina says on the show “Good Morning America.” The Manhattan indictment hearing will likely be “a typical trial that doesn’t take long, 20-30 minutes,” Tacopina said.

When the moderator suggested that Trump simply plead guilty to the crime to get off the case, the attorney said: “I can assure you that there will be no admission of guilt in this case.”

The payment itself is not illegal. According to the media, Trump is accused of falsely billing them and falsifying business records. He may have broken campaign finance laws. According to US media, Trump has been charged with 34 crimes, each of which carries a prison sentence.

The indictment against Trump will be read today at 2:15 p.m. (8:15 p.m. CET) in New York.

Numerous Trump supporters demonstrate in the street against the impeachment of Donald Trump. 35,000 New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers are currently on duty or on call. In addition, there are FBI agents and other state troopers.
