Mia S.* († 22) was on her way home in the early morning of February 6, 2022. The nurse had spent the night in a club in the Danish city of Aalborg. On the way, a 37-year-old handyman offered to drive her home in his van. Mia accepted the offer.
But the young woman never came home. As the Danish newspaper “BT” reports, the craftsman drove her to a deserted forest. There he attacked the 22-year-old and raped her. The man then shot and killed his victim. The charge alleges asphyxiation and compression of her chest.
He wanted to dissolve parts in liquid
After the heinous act, the handyman cut Mia into 231 pieces using a power saw, knife and scissors. According to the coroner’s office, his goal was to dissolve his victim in a liquid with plunger. When that failed, the 37-year-old buried the parts in the woods.
After Mia’s relatives reported a missing person, the police began an investigation. On February 10, four days after the murder, the body parts were found in the woods. The craftsman was arrested the day before and has been detained ever since.
“I’ve never experienced anything like it”
Forensic pathologist Hans Petter Hougen is also shocked by the crime compared to “BT”. “None of us is used to something of this size. I have never experienced anything like this,” said the Dane, who has already performed more than 12,000 autopsies.
The 37-year-old craftsman has already confessed that he chopped Mia S into pieces. However, he denies killing the 22-year-old and has therefore pleaded not guilty in court. The trial is scheduled for the end of June. (obf)
