A pizza bill led investigators in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, onto a hot murder trail. After a man († 34) was shot, officers found a pizza bill with a telephone number on the spot. It belongs to a boy (12). Now the boy is suspected of murdering the man.
According to American media, the boy would have shot the man in the head on March 15. He had picked up when the police dialed the number on the pizza bill.
Now he is charged with murder. If convicted, he will spend the rest of his life in prison. In Milwaukee, children 10 and older are considered criminally responsible. In particularly serious cases adult criminal law may be applied.
Unique messages
During the interrogation, the teenager quickly became entangled in contradictions. He first claimed that he had only eaten a pizza at the victim’s house and then left. He later blamed a friend of the victim for the murder.
The boy allegedly shot the victim in the head from behind and then stole his assault rifle and shotgun from the bedroom.
Authorities say the motive for the crime was that the boy was determined to get hold of the victim’s guns. The boy is said to have written to a friend on the night of the murder, “I will, Brandan. Or must I kill him immediately?”
The next clear message followed a moment later. “I’m going to knock him out. I don’t have time to hunt my family.” (nad)
