His life has changed in a short time. Kürsat Y.* (42) from Dortmund (D) has won the lottery three times in six months. But how did he do it?
“I used to always bet on the same numbers,” Kürsat Y. told “Bild” after winning the lottery for the second time. Instead of luck, he was always unlucky. It only worked with system certificates.
And indeed: the first two times he skimmed himself with a system certificate. In September, he hit the jackpot and won 9.9 million euros. The crane operator with Turkish roots then squandered a lot of money on cars, watches and clothing. In just a few weeks, 1.5 million had disappeared.
Long friendship helped him win the lottery for the third time
Despite his win, he continued to play the lottery and got lucky again. This time it wasn’t as much as the first time. 1700 euros. However, Kürsat Y. does not owe the third lottery win to a system ticket, but to years of friendship. “This time it was not a note that I bought. My friend Apo gave it to me,” the 42-year-old tells “Bild”. Apo S.* (44) and Chico have known each other for more than 30 years. each other when Chico came to Germany from Turkey as a boy.
“We immediately clicked, we played football together on the Borsigplatz. We also went to school together. Since then we have never lost sight of each other,” Apo S. says to “Bild”.
Money for the children’s savings accounts
His buddy now lives with his family in the town of Lünen, near Dortmund. Chico keeps picking up his friend in one of his luxury cars. And in March Apo wanted to thank S. for the trips with a full tank of fuel. But Chico refused. So his buddy bought him two lottery tickets from which Chico could choose. “It was just kind of fun really,” he says.
Apo’s small gesture paid off – for five right, there was almost 2700 euros. “I can’t believe it. If row 12 had been a 3 instead of a 40, it would have been almost a million again,” said the lottery king. Without hesitation, he gave his buddy the money – for the savings accounts of his children. Now Apo S. wants revenge on his friend – this time with a fancy dinner at an Italian restaurant.(lia)
