Three people were killed in a collision in Strasbourg, France, when two cars chased each other.

Five other occupants were injured in the collision on Monday evening at the Rijnhaven and were taken to hospital, the newspaper “Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace” reported on Tuesday. The rescuers arrived with a large contingent and a helicopter.

A number of angry and desperate relatives of those involved in the accident and the quarrel also arrived at the scene of the accident. The newspaper reported that shots had also been fired. Police secured the scene of the accident.

One of the cars left the road and caused the collision, broadcaster France 3 reports, referring to the police. A brawl would have sparked off the chase. Numerous police officers had been on the scene trying to contain the violence and tensions. (SDA)
