Nashville Police Chief John Drake said authorities found a manifesto of the perpetrator.

Audrey H.* († 28) ended the lives of six people on Monday. The gunman, who identified as transgender, broke into the private Christian primary school and opened fire. Three nine-year-old children and three adults, including the headmistress, are killed. The police shoot the gunman, who was once at the school himself, after the bloody act.

As the police now announce, the first evidence could now provide clues about H.’s possible motive for the crime. “We have a manifesto, we have some writings pertaining to this day, this incident, that we are reviewing,” Nashville Police Chief John Drake said at a news conference in Nashville Monday afternoon (local time).

Found floor plans with surveillance cameras and entrances

Maps of the Christian private school were also found, which indicated surveillance cameras and entrances, among other things.

Accordingly, the shooter allegedly marked detailed maps of the school. According to the information available so far, H. would have gained entry by shooting through one of the doors. The researchers’ discoveries suggest that H. could have planned the crime well in advance.

As the police chief said, there is currently no evidence that H. targeted other schools or places for a killing spree. Authorities have also not made a conclusive statement about the motive for the crime. However, police are investigating whether her transgender identity played a role in her attack on the Christian school. Research is currently being conducted in all directions. And: “There is currently a theory that we may be able to talk about later, but it has not been confirmed,” said the police chief. (SDA/dzc)
