Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been fired from a physical therapy center after suffering a concussion in a fall.
The 81-year-old said on Saturday he was happy to be back home. The Republican fell in a hotel in the capital Washington earlier this month and was then treated in hospital. He will now work from home for the next few days, said the political veteran.
McConnell is the longest-serving party leader in U.S. Senate history. According to the Chamber of Congress, he has been elected nine times since 2006 to lead the Republicans, as majority or minority leader, depending on the outcome of each general election and the parties’ Senate seats. (sda/dpa)
