When a group of ‘last generation’ climate stickers blocked the road in Dresden on Monday, a driver panicked.

“Go away!” the man shouts furiously and steps towards the climate activists who are blocking traffic in the street. The group “Last Generation” caused a new traffic jam in the German city of Dresden on Monday. That didn’t sit well with a driver at all.

A video of his freak-out is currently being shared on Twitter. On the recording, the man can be heard explaining that he has to continue immediately because he has someone in his car who is sick. The video does not show whether the man was on his way to the hospital to visit someone or whether he wanted to take someone there.

Ambulance couldn’t get through

The actions of the group “Last Generation” and their protest actions cause discussions again and again. One incident in particular made headlines across national borders: at the end of October 2022, a cyclist († 44) fell under a concrete mixer in Berlin and was seriously injured.

The fire brigade, which had to free the trapped woman, was slowed down by climate adhesives. A few days after the incident, the woman was pronounced brain dead. She died a short time later. The police later filed criminal charges against two activists for failure to provide assistance, the related investigation is still ongoing. (dzc)
