Virginia prison film escape: two inmates escape after digging a tunnel with a toothbrush

Two prisoners from the city Newport News, Virginia they escaped from prison tunneling with a modified toothbrushthe city authorities announced on Tuesday.

The prisoners were released just nine hours after they were arrested at the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) franchise restaurant, specializing in breakfast, explained the local sheriff’s office in a statement reported by Efe.

As stated in the letter, two men, who have been in prison since last year because minor offenses, took advantage of a structural failure to dig a tunnel. The authorities did not give more details about the leak because, they say, it is located in various places in the prison and now they have to secure the facility.

A team of city engineers is already working on ways to mitigate the weakness, the sheriff’s office said. “I am grateful to the citizens who saw Garza and Nemo (the inmates) at IHOP and notified authorities,” local Sheriff Gabe Morgan said in a statement. No charges have yet been announced in connection with his escape.
