It is well known that mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has political ambitions. In a new video, the 61-year-old now explains what exactly he wants to achieve:
Prigozhin said he wants to run for president of Ukraine in 2024

In the video, published on Telegram on Saturday, Prigozhin says he expects to run against incumbent Volodymyr Zelenskyy and former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Ukraine’s 2024 presidential election.
“If I win the presidential election in Ukraine, everything will be fine, people. Then we won’t need any more ammunition,” Prigozhin said.
In a separate statement, St. Petersburg native Prigozhin also announced that “new fighters will arrive,” as reported by TRTWorld. His Wagner group has opened recruitment centers in 42 Russian cities. Despite the colossal resistance of the Ukrainian forces, Wagner will advance. This is particularly contradictory as Prigozhin hinted in another recent video that the mercenary unit would be disbanded if his forces captured Bakhmut.
The mercenary army is particularly involved in the embattled city on the war front, where they recently reported success in capturing the eastern part of the city. Recently, however, there were reports that Russian assault attempts in Bakhmut faltered and no further land gains could be made. (con)
