He can’t move, cries and screams. Influencer Savannah Glembin (25), known in the US, has uploaded a video on Tiktok in which her son Gunner (2) is wrapped in plastic wrap. In the clip, the completely motionless two-year-old is held up like a package by his father, who is wearing a US Marine camouflage suit.
Savannah Glembin’s voice can be heard in the background: “If your toddler is in a bad mood all day, this is the only way.” She laughs even though her child is crying, his face has even turned red.
Then the father drops the boy face-first onto the bed and jokes, “He’s a worm.” Gunner lies still and lets out a heartbreaking sound – as if he were moaning in pain.
“We would never mistreat him”
Glembin is a successful influencer. More than a million people follow her on Tiktok alone. Little Gunner’s video sparked a shit storm — and a dozen reports of suspected child abuse.
Child protection services also intervened and took the child away from the couple. In response, Glembin has made another video of her expressing herself crying. “We won’t get our son back until the officials are convinced he’s safe with us,” she complains. The authorities tore the family apart.
sorry? no. Instead, Glebin tries to talk his way out: “Gunner was laughing and smiling throughout the video and was wrapped in plastic for less than five minutes.” The influencer only blames himself for the treatment going public: “I made the biggest mistake of my life posting the video.”
Of course, if the young mother hoped for pity on Tiktok, it was in vain. “You deserve it” is one comment, someone else says “You should be arrested and locked up!”
