Disturbing recordings of Emma P.* (39) are circulating on the internet. The British woman cut her daughter’s hamster open alive with a knife and then ate it. For the heinous act on «Mr. Nibble”, the animal abuser is locked up. She has to go to jail for a year, reports the BBC.

Emma P. had previously confessed to the crime, but claimed she wanted to put the hamster out of his misery because he was injured anyway. One of her dogs would have bitten him.

But the video provides evidence that P. deliberately hurt the animal, even though it was injured by the dog. The images show how the British woman hits the hamster with a knife, then cuts it into pieces and eats it. A laughing voice can be heard in the background saying, “You’re a sick bastard!”

Years of struggle with drug addiction

A vet reviewed the footage and described the content as “deeply disturbing”. It can be assumed that the hamster has suffered both physical and psychological damage, as hamsters are prey animals that can sense fear. In 27 years of working, she has never heard a hamster scream like that.

This gruesome scene is said to have taken place at her home in mid-May 2022. The British refused to say who made the video. “These are not nice people,” she told police. The court confirmed that the woman had been struggling with drug addiction for several years.

“This kind of cruelty has no place in today’s society”

It was “disgusting” for a defenseless animal to be subjected to violence to entertain others, the judge said. In addition to a one-year prison sentence, she was banned from keeping animals for 15 years because the torture was so severe.

An animal welfare spokesperson said: “This kind of cruelty has no place in today’s society and was a callous, vicious attack on a defenseless animal. It was distressing and distressing to everyone involved in this case.” (lia)
