The damage to police vehicles and public and private property cannot yet be quantified, the Lucerne police said on Saturday. Before the game, some of the Basel fans went to the stadium by central train and others on foot. They committed “various acts of vandalism” in different neighborhoods. The damaged train had to be taken out of service.

According to the announcement, the residents of Basel caused traffic disruption in the Bundesplatz and Steghof areas on arrival and departure. The fans had not submitted a request for a fan march in advance, so the police did not cordon off the streets.
