It is an open secret that China is behind Russia in the war in Ukraine. As American expert James Rubin (62) now argues, the scale of China’s support to Russia would be greater than previously assumed.
China not only diligently disseminates Russian propaganda, but is said to be deeper in its pockets than the Kremlin itself.
China claims NATO started the war
According to Rubin, whose job it is for the US State Department to combat foreign propaganda and disinformation, China is repeating and spreading the Russian narrative of the war. In other words, this was started by NATO.
“In the field of communication, coordination between Russia and China is almost complete,” says Rubin during a trip to Europe. However, since China is spreading the same propaganda as the Kremlin, it faces a major challenge.
“The well has been poisoned by Chinese and Russian disinformation — it is harmful,” Rubin continued.
Will China be supplying weapons soon?
To take action against foreign propaganda, he has now set himself the goal of not only passively refuting Russian-Chinese disinformation about Ukraine, but also actively going on the offensive.
Accordingly, Rubin will urge countries not to protect those exposed to spreading disinformation.
According to the American expert, cooperation between China and Russia may not yet be at its peak. It is quite possible that the two countries will cooperate even more closely in the future.
