“I’m back, Baby”: Arnold Schwarzenegger will soon have his own series on Netflix American virologist contradicts laboratory statement: “Pure speculation”

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger (75) can be seen in his first leading role from the end of May. “I’m back, baby,” says the action star in a short teaser for the spy series “FUBAR”, which the streaming service Netflix put online on Monday (local time).

Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro (32, “Top Gun: Maverick”) play father and daughter who accidentally learn that they both secretly work as CIA operatives. Despite the lies and secrets, they have to work together.

In the teaser for the action-comedy series, Schwarzenegger shows off a cigar, pistol and a fast motorcycle, but then a punch to the groin knocks him out of action. Everything else is still top secret, except he probably needs an ice pack, Netflix jokes in the announcement. Series production is scheduled to start on May 25.

People were always asking him when he would make another big action comedy like “True Lies,” Schwarzenegger wrote in a fan newsletter Monday. The show is just that, it makes you laugh, but not just for two hours, but for an entire season, the star explained.

The cast also includes Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate), Travis Van Winkle (Transformers) and Jay Baruchel (The Kindness of Strangers). The hour-long episode series is produced by Skydance Television and “Sopranos” writer Nick Santora. (sda/dpa)
